The BioRegions project brought the development of bioenergy regions on a European level by building on the work of the most advanced areas.
This was achieved through the following work plan:
i. identification of success factors in “best practice” regions
ii. networking activities in the target regions
iii. definition of Action Plans for establishing five new bioenergy regions
iv. support the implementation of the Action Plans in the target regions
v. encourage and support other regions to replicate the project activities
The target regions involved in the project are: Sredna Gora (Bulgaria), Slavicin and Brumov-Bylnice (Czech Republic), Trieves (France), County Westmeath (Ireland) and Limbazi (Latvia). Further information on these regions can be found here.
